Out of the house today!
Hey everyone!
I got to get out of the house today for a nice treat. My partner Clint picked me up and took me to work for a BBQ at the South Center Service Area in South Gilbert for lunch today. It was really nice to see work people!! I haven't seen a lot of those people since i dropped off the work map. My last day of work was April 3rd and most people had no clue what was going on health-wise. There were several people on hand, id guess close to 100. They made me some get back to work posters and Dave cooked his great pulled pork sandwiches thanks to Severn Trent. It was really nice to receive all the well wishes and see positive people i haven't seen in almost a month. Brian Q handed me an envelope at the end of the BBQ and when i got it home there was a very handsome lump some of money to help with medical bills, etc. It was above and beyond and i appreciate every penny that was donated !!! It is very humbling to know I've got quite a wonderful group of friends in my corner for this fight. Hope to see you all soon, ill be keeping you posted periodically via this blog my Brother Dan had the patience to put together. Thanks to all of you for coming out to see me today!!!!

Chemo. Just a small update. I talked with my oncologist yesterday before my 2nd treatment and he is happy with the progress so far. He wants to wait on radiation treatment at this time to give chemo a chance to shrink some of these tumors down. Chemo zaps you of energy and some days are worse than others, but all in all i believe its working!!!
Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, well wishes, ALL are greatly appreciated more than you will know!!
Love you all,
Shelly

Hi Shelly,
I know we have only met, perhaps once or twice, years ago, But I still feel as though I know you through Leah, Dan and my mom. It is really heart wrenching hearing about the cancer, and my heart goes out to you, as do my prayers that you over come it as well as all the discomfort that comes along with the battle. I wish you the best and all the positive 'vibes' so to speak for a completely cancer free outcome.
Sincerely, Yvette
