Angels/Diamondbacks 6-27-09

On Saturday my Mom and I met Valentin, Jessie, Mary Kay and Val at Chase Field for my Mom's 1st baseball game.  Valentin pulled some strings and got us a very special day at the park.  Valentin knows Bill Kalber in the Chandler Baseball organization who personally knows Derrick M. Hall the President and CEO of the Dbacks.  We got to park where the players park on the south side of the stadium and were escorted down into the bowels of the stadium by a nice young lady named Morgan.  We ended up walking right out into the Angels dugout.  It was 2 hours before game time so it was empty and we took some pictures.  Out walked Mike Sciosca the coach of the Angels.  He sat with me and chatted for awhile and signed a couple of baseballs for us.  Then the hitting coach for the Angels, Micky Hatcher.  After that ,one by one, several Angel players popped in for a visit....Matt Palmer, Justin Speier, Mike Napoli, Chone Figgins, Torii Hunter and Vladimir Guerrero.  It was AWESOME!!!!

After a magical time in the Angel dugout, we were escorted to our seats 5th row behind the Angel dugout!!  What a day!!!  I'm lucky and blessed and can't tell you how appreciative I am to have such kind friends.  I've got a baseball signed by some of my favorite players in the game, but beyond that and more importantly I have a memory that will last a life time.

A great big thank you goes out to Valentin Barriga, Bill Kalber and Derrick M. Hall who made it all possible!

                            GO ANGELS!!

I got to tell you that was a day I am sure we'll all remember and I was proud to be there and share it with you. I also want to thank Val and Jessi for making that happen. I am sure it reinforces what you probably already know; you have a huge circle of friends who love and care about you and are actively doing whatever they can to let you know that you're not alone in this fight and never will be. Good stuff!! Love you pal!
