Chemo #12

Hi everyone, i went for chemo #12 again today.  My white blood cells are low again so i could only get a half a dose of chemo.  On Monday and Tuesday I will go in for a Neupogen shot to boost my white cells.  What is Neupogen?  Neupogen is a hormone-like substance that is naturally produced by the body.  Its purpose is to stimulate the growth of white blood cells (neutrophils) in the bone marrow.  White blood cells, specifically those called neutrophils, are very important because they fight infection.  They are your body's defense against invading bacteria.  By helping to build your neutrophil count, neupogen decreases your risk of infection.  Other than we are waiting to hear when my scans will be done in July.

On a sad note my Moms oldest sister Beverly Joyce Robinson passed away on June 29th of a heart attack.  She was 72 years old.  RIP

Hope everyone is well!

Shelly

Dang it! It sucks that your count was too low but I'm greatful that they check for such things rather then allow your white count to get so low that it leaves you vulnerable to infection. Seems like you are in great hands and care O-wie. This second run of chemo will be over before you know it. Positive thoughts for your next chemo and the testing.
    Love ya O,
