Chemo #24 and other things

Howdy all,  I hope everyone is doing well.  Chemo went well yesterday.  It was a late session (2pm), but we were out of there by 4:30pm.  Finding veins is getting harder and is taking 3-4 pokes to get an I.V. started.  Yesterday she got it on the 1st poke which is always nice.  The nurse said the chemicals are just wearing my veins down making it harder every time.   Dr. Cavalcant is on vacation this week so that last date for Taxotere is proving to be elusive.  I know its time for a break as the side effects have worsened and i'm sick more frequently for longer periods.  Looking forward to a break in October for sure.  I had a lot of irons in the fire as far as trips planned this summer and they all fizzled out.  So, after my last Taxotere treatment, Tanner and I are going to pack our bags and get out of town for a well deserved vacation.  After that should bring us right up to the annual Halloween Party.  Thats right its comin down the pike so dust off your costumes and get ready.  I will probably have it Halloween night which happens to be on a Saturday night this year.

As for Tanner, he is growing like a weed.  He has had diet issues since I got him but I think we finally found a dog food that is working.  The breeder suggested Royal Canine which is expensive but within 2 days of the switch his stools are normal and he is sleeping longer through the night.  We were getting up every 2-3 hours and now he's sleeping 6-7 hours which is a huge difference coming from a tired old lady let me tell you!  He also has scratching/ itching issues.  The vet believes its just regular allergies not related to food and I agree, so we put him on allergy pills starting yesterday and hope to see an approvement on that soon.  He still has those lovely puppy teeth but not biting nearly as much.  YAY!    We've been to 3 puppy classses and have 3 to go.  They are going well and we both have learned alot from the experience.

I started building a kitchen table a few weeks back and work on it when I'm feeling up to it.  I put a Vermont Maple stain on it and didnt care for it.  It was a hideous orange (and i like orange).  So with my Moms help we sanded the table top and got all that stain off and started fresh.  I went with a Pecan stain that is much nicer.  I've got one more leg to sand/stain and then I can start the assembly,  so it shouldnt be too much longer until I can bring her in the house.  With the extra lumber,  I started a coffee table that should keep me busy for awhile.  Pictures to follow.

That is the update from Spring Circle.  Take care all.

Shelly
