Chemo #26
Hi everyone, I got the best possible news on Thursday from Dr. Cavalcant. "Released to go back to work"!! I cant tell you what a relief that is. Albeit with restrictions, back to work I go. It will be nice to get some normalcy back. My peeps at work are going to work with me to ease me back in, probably office work to start until I can get my strength back up to get back out into the field. Also, next week will be my last round of Taxotere!! YipEEE! My body can sure use a break from the side effects caused from the Taxotere. So from here on out I will get a Herceptin drip every 3 weeks and take an estrogen blocker in the form of a pill. I did ask the Doctor if he thought the cancer would return and he said "yes". I tested positive for the "cancer gene" so he said at some point it will be back. It could take years, but they will continue to monitor me closely and stay aggresive. I told my Mom, I think were done with it. I think I will continue to believe that especially as I get my health back and start feeling strong again. And if it does come back we will beat it again!! I have always believed that family and friends are important but this experience has really hammered that home. I cant tell you how much my family appreciates all the well wishes, cards, thoughts, prayers, grass cuttings, food drop offs, and house cleanings! You all were awesome during our cancer experience. I know its not over yet, but I feel like we are definetely moving on to greener pastures and I am looking forward to feeling healthy again. And of course I could not have done this without the support of my family who played such an important role in my beating this thing. My parents were there every step of the way and I will forever be in debt. I'd also like to thank my brother who put this blog together and kept everyone in the loop, up to date, and gave me something to think about every week. I consider myself very lucky to have all of you in my corner.
On a lighter note! Tanner graduated from puppy class this week from Petco!! It was a fun experience and we both enjoyed it.
And, Dan and Leah rescued a 9 week old black lab puppy! Last I heard his name might be "Rollo"? Dan is deer hunting so when he returns we will get some puppy pictures up here.
Here's Rolo....

Take care all!!

oh, and by the way......you may feel as though you couldn't have made this journey without the support of your family and friends, I happen to know different, they just helped you along the way. AND, you my friend, have served as the most incredible inspiration to me and probably so many others without even knowing it; this has been a tremendous lesson for me.
