Dr Cavalcant visit

My Mom and i went to see Dr. C today and he was pretty excited.  He wants to change things up.  We are going to stop chemo (Herceptin and also Tamoxofen, the estrogen blocker).   Instead we are going to do monthly injections of a drug called Fulvestrant Injection brand name Faslodex.  It is an estrogen blocker and I will only have to go in once a month for the injection and it will not make me sick nor will it make my hair fall out.  He said i think this will "improve your quality of life drastically and also shrink tumors very effectively".  Exactly what i want to hear from my oncologist!!  First they have to get approval from insurance but chemo is very expensive and i would think an injection once a month would be cheaper for insurance.  I will hear in the next couple of days.  So we walked out feeling pretty good.  When your oncologist walks in with a smile on his face you know its gonna be a good day.  I will keep you posted as to how things go.

Thanks for keepin up!

Shelly
